EPFO Launches 'VISHWAS 2026' Amnesty Scheme to Resolve Long-Pending Employer Penalty Disputes

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) launched 'VISHWAS, 2026', a dedicated one-time settlement mechanism for employers.
Operational for a 6-month window effective from 29 June 2026, the scheme provides an end-to-end digital, time-bound framework to clear old damages and penal liabilities.
For past defaults prior to 14 June 2024, revised graded penalty rates are: 0.25% per month for delays up to 2 months, 0.50% per month for delays between 2–4 months, and 1.0% per month for delays exceeding 4 months.
