Centre Designates First Four Mega Ports Under Indian Ports Act 2025
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has notified Deendayal, JNPT, Paradip, and Mundra as India's first four Mega Ports under Section 73 of the Indian Ports Act, 2025. The designation is granted to ports handling at least 150 MMT of bulk cargo or 7.5 million TEUs of container traffic annually. The mega port status remains valid for five years.
