Project GANGA: Uttar Pradesh to Provide Rural Broadband to 20 Lakh Homes
The Uttar Pradesh government has launched 'Project GANGA' to bridge the digital divide in rural and semi-urban areas.
The initiative aims to provide high-speed internet to over 20 lakh rural households within the next three years.
An MoU was signed between the State Transformation Commission and One OTT Entertainment Limited (a Hinduja Group subsidiary).
The project involves creating 'Digital Service Providers' at the Nyaya Panchayat level, training nearly 10,000 local entrepreneurs.
