FATF Adds Kuwait and Papua New Guinea to its 'Grey List' for Increased Monitoring

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has placed Kuwait and Papua New Guinea under its 'Grey List', formally known as Jurisdictions under Increased Monitoring.
With these two additions, the total number of countries on the FATF Grey List has increased to 22 as of February 2026.
The decision was finalized during the 5th FATF Plenary Meeting held in Mexico City under the presidency of Elisa de Anda Madrazo.
Exam Perspective: Being on the grey list can lead to increased scrutiny for a country’s financial transactions and may impact its international credit ratings.
