Centre Approves ₹1,250 Crore IT Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Puducherry

The Government of India has launched a ₹1,250 crore Special Economic Zone (SEZ) IT Park located in Thattanchavady, Puducherry.
The project spans 21.30 acres and is designed to establish Puducherry as a global investment hub for the information technology sector.
The infrastructure layout allocates 70% of the area for plug-and-play offices and 30% for support facilities like housing, medical centers, and banks.
The initiative aims to generate 30,000 jobs and reach an export target of ₹10,000 crore, significantly boosting the UT's economy.
