SCI and MDL Sign Deal for India's First Green Methanol Dual-Fuel Vessel

Shipping Corporation of India Ltd (SCI) and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) have partnered to build a green methanol dual-fuel vessel.
The ship is a Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) with a capacity of 3,000 Deadweight Tonnage (DWT).
It will utilize a dual-fuel system, combining green methanol with conventional marine fuel, making it the first such alternative-fuel vessel in the SCI fleet.
This collaboration marks a significant step toward achieving sustainable and decarbonized shipping in Indian waters.
Perspective: Green methanol is considered a key future fuel to reduce the maritime industry's carbon footprint.
