India Launches 'Lion' Species Spotlight Programme at Sasan Gir
The program serves as a precursor to the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) Summit 2026, scheduled for June in New Delhi.
India is the only country in the world that is a natural habitat for both Tigers and Asiatic Lions.
The IBCA aims to conserve seven major big cat species, including Cheetahs, Jaguars, and Pumas, besides the native Indian species.
Strategic Goal: Highlighting the success of Project Lion as a global model for community-led wildlife conservation.
