India's Outward Remittances Drop to $28.9 Billion in FY26 Amid Global Uncertainties
Educational outbound transfers recorded the steepest fall, dropping by over 20% to USD 2.3 billion due to high overseas interest rates and inflationary pressures.
Conversely, outward remittances for investments in offshore equities and debt instruments registered a remarkable surge of 43.68%, touching USD 440.22 million.
Outbound medical spending also experienced positive growth of 9.52% year-on-year, totaling USD 3.91 million.
