NSO Provisional Data: India's Real GDP Projects Healthy 7.7% Growth in FY26

According to the National Statistics Office (NSO), India's Real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) achieved a robust growth of 7.7% in Financial Year 2025-26, compared to 7.1% in FY25.
The fourth quarter (Q4) of FY26 registered an accelerated growth rate of 7.8% based on the revised calculations.
These growth estimates are calibrated on the newly revised GDP series, which has transitioned its base year from 2011-12 to 2022-23.
The provisional nominal GDP for FY26 is pegged at Rs 346.36 lakh crore, while the real GDP is estimated at Rs 323.12 lakh crore.
Aspirants must note that switching the base year reflects structural changes in the Indian economy, better capturing modern industrial and service sector contributions.
