India's Wholesale Inflation Hits 9.68% on New Base Year Series
This release marks the debut of the newly revised base year of 2022-23, transitioning from the older base year of 2011-12.
Under the revamped system, the total commodity basket has expanded significantly from 697 items to 957 items to better reflect modern consumption patterns.
The index is compiled and released monthly by the Office of the Economic Adviser (OEA) under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
