India's indigenously developed Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) system, Netra, has received Final Operational Clearance (FOC) from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
Developed by the Bengaluru-based Centre for Airborne Systems (CABS), the Netra system is integrated onto the Brazilian Embraer EMB-145I aircraft platform.
Achieving FOC marks its transition to complete combat readiness as an airborne radar and control station for the Indian Air Force (IAF).
This milestone significantly enhances India's air defense monitoring capabilities and reduces reliance on foreign military surveillance platforms.
