French meteorologist Dr. Florence Rabier has been awarded the 71st International Meteorological Organization (IMO) Prize by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
Dr. Rabier was chosen for her outstanding contributions to weather forecasting systems and numerical weather prediction methodologies.
Referred to as the 'Nobel Prize of Meteorology', the IMO Prize includes a cash award of 10,000 Swiss francs.
