Skyroot Aerospace Unveils Vikram-1, India's First Private Orbital Launch Vehicle
The launch vehicle is named in honor of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, globally renowned as the pioneer of the Indian space program.
The rocket is engineered to carry satellites weighing up to 350 kg into Low Earth Orbit (LEO).
Its inaugural mission has been named 'Aagaman' (a Sanskrit word translating to 'Arrival') and is scheduled to lift off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota.
