MOSPI Unveils First-Ever Trial Index of Services Production (ISP) with Base Year 2024-25
Set with a base year of 2024-25, the trial index monitors 19 vital service sub-sectors, which collectively represent roughly 60% of India's total services sector.
The inaugural release covers April 2026, wherein 14 out of the 19 tracked sub-sectors registered double-digit year-on-year expansion, led by Accommodation & Food Services at 37.2%.
Aspirants should note that this index fills a critical data gap in measuring the service industry’s real-time performance, which is the largest contributor to India's GDP.
