Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu unveiled the 'Mukhyamantri Machhuara Samman Nidhi Yojana' to support fishermen reliant on inland reservoir fisheries.
Eligible beneficiaries will be granted a one-time lump-sum assistance of ₹3,500 to offset income loss during the mandatory annual fishing ban period.

Exam Perspective: Direct cash transfers during seasonal ecological ban periods help reduce economic vulnerability among informal fishery workers.
