Tamil Nadu Tops Deceased Organ Donation in NOTTO Annual Report 2025–26
The National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO), operating under MoHFW, published its Annual Report 2025–26 on the 16th Indian Organ Donation Day.
India achieved an all-time record of 20,138 total organ transplants in the year 2025.
Tamil Nadu emerged as the leading state in deceased organ donation with 266 deceased donors, followed by Telangana (205) and Karnataka (198).
Delhi led the nationwide tally for total organ transplants performed with 4,564 procedures, ahead of Tamil Nadu (2,796) and Maharashtra (2,136).
