GRSE Launches Second Next-Generation Offshore Patrol Vessel 'Shruti'
Shruti follows the launch of its predecessor vessel, 'Sanghamitra', which was deployed in May 2026 under the same contract framework.
Built under the Ministry of Defence, GRSE plays a critical role in augmenting naval surveillance and maritime security capabilities for the Indian Navy.
Significance: The vessel strengthens indigenous defense shipbuilding capacity and supports long-range EEZ patrol and anti-piracy missions.
