MoPSW Grants In-Principle Approval for Greenfield Shipbuilding Cluster at Porbandar, Gujarat
The project is implemented through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) named National Shipbuilding and Heavy Industries Park-Gujarat (NSHIP-Gujarat), co-promoted by MoPSW and the Gujarat Maritime Board.
The facility is engineered to construct large commercial vessels with an annual output capacity of 1.2 to 1.5 million Gross Tonnage (GT).
Additionally, an in-principle sanction was granted for a Rs 1,570 crore ship repair hub at Vadinar in the Gulf of Kutch, jointly developed by Deendayal Port Authority and Cochin Shipyard Limited.
Under the SbDS framework, eligible infrastructure capital investments will receive 25% financial assistance.
