Andhra Pradesh Initiates 'Project HANUMAN' to Resolve Human-Wildlife Conflict
The acronym stands for Healing and Nurturing Units for Monitoring, Aid and Nursing of Wildlife.
Ex-gratia assistance for deaths caused by wild animal attacks has been doubled from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh.
As part of infrastructure support, 100 GPS-enabled vehicles and 4 specialized Wildlife Rescue & Treatment Centres (WRTC) have been established.
The project was officially inaugurated to coincide with World Wildlife Day on March 3rd, focusing on protecting both ecology and local livelihoods.
