FATF Adds Kuwait and Papua New Guinea to its 'Grey List'

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has placed Kuwait and Papua New Guinea under its 'Grey List' for increased monitoring.
The decision was finalized during the 5th FATF Plenary Meeting held in Mexico.
These countries were added due to strategic deficiencies in their Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CFT) frameworks.
With these new additions, the total number of jurisdictions on the FATF Grey List has increased to 22.
Exam Perspective: Being on the FATF Grey List can impact a country's international credit ratings and increase the cost of foreign borrowing.
