Union Cabinet Greenlights ₹3,631 Crore Corridor for Noida Airport and Extends Jal Jeevan Mission
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved a ₹3,630.77 crore greenfield connectivity corridor linking the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to Noida International Airport (Jewar).
The 31.42 km long corridor will be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) across the states of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
In another major decision, the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) has been extended to December 2028 with a significantly enhanced outlay of ₹8.69 lakh crore.
Under JJM 2.0, the initiative 'Sujalam Bharat' will be launched to digitally map the rural water supply chain and assign a unique 'Sujal Gaon' ID to every village.
Perspective: These approvals underscore the government's dual focus on critical infrastructure for the NCR region and long-term sustainability of rural water security.
