Emirates NBD Secures Regulatory Nod for Landmark Strategic Stake in RBL Bank

Dubai-based Emirates NBD has received Indian government and regulatory clearance for a major strategic investment of approximately USD 3 billion (₹26,850 crore) in RBL Bank.
Post-transaction, Emirates NBD's ownership in RBL Bank is projected to be between 51% and 74%, effectively making them the bank's promoter.
The deal is expected to result in the merger of Emirates NBD's existing Indian branch network (Mumbai, Chennai, Gurugram) into RBL Bank operations.
This transaction represents one of the largest single foreign direct investments in India's banking sector history, transitioning RBL Bank into a foreign bank subsidiary model.
