India's Maiden SME-Led Semiconductor ATMP/OSAT Facility Commissioned in Rajasthan
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the country's first small-and-medium enterprise (SME)-led semiconductor Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging (ATMP) and Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) plant in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan.
Set up by Sahasra Semiconductors Pvt. Ltd. with an investment exceeding ₹150 crore, the facility was established under the Scheme for Promotion of Manufacturing of Electronic Components and Semiconductors (SPECS).
Alongside the plant, a specialized Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) spanning 50.3 acres in Salarpur was also operationalized to support downstream manufacturing industries.
This launch marks a critical milestone in building localized high-tech supply chains and reducing heavy import dependence on global chip manufacturers.
