PM SVANidhi Scheme Celebrates Six Years of Empowering India's Street Vendors
The Union Cabinet has extended the scheme's execution period from December 31, 2024, to March 31, 2030, with a total scheme outlay revised to Rs 7,332 crore to benefit 1.15 crore street vendors.
Loan amounts for initial and subsequent tranches have been enhanced: the first tranche increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000, and the second from Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000, while the third remains at Rs 50,000.
A new feature introduced is the UPI-linked RuPay Credit Card for street vendors who repay their second loan on time, supporting their transition to formal digital financial ecosystems.
The scheme provides a 7% interest subsidy on timely repayments and offers digital cashback incentives of up to Rs 1,600 to drive digital transactions.
