Indian Coast Guard Inducts Indigenous Fast Patrol Vessel ICGS Akshay in Goa
ICGS Akshay is the fourth vessel to be delivered out of the scheduled eight-ship Adamya-class FPV project.
The advanced patrol vessel has been completely designed, engineered, and constructed indigenously by Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL).
Significance: The induction of ICGS Akshay significantly enhances the Indian Coast Guard's coastal surveillance, anti-smuggling, and search-and-rescue (SAR) capabilities in the Indian Ocean Region.
