The satellite encountered an operational failure after being hit by a severe geomagnetic solar storm in space.
Launched in May 2026 aboard SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket, Mission Drishti was India's largest privately developed Earth observation satellite.
The satellite uniquely integrated both Electro-Optical (EO) imaging and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technologies onto a single platform to enable all-weather, day-and-night observation.
