ISRO Successfully Executes Parachute Airdrop Test for Gaganyaan Mission
The test was carried out at the Aerial Delivery Research and Development Establishment (ADRDE) Drop Zone in Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh.
During IMAT-05, a simulated Crew Module payload was dropped from an altitude of 2.5 km using an Indian Air Force IL-76 heavy transport aircraft.
The primary goal of this test was to validate the performance and design safety of the Main Parachute System under maximum expected load conditions.
