The 48th WorldSkills Competition took place in Shanghai, China, from 22 September to 27 September 2026. The biennial global vocational skills event brought together over 1,400 competitors representing approximately 70 countries and regions to compete across 64 vocational skills categories.

India finished in 10th position on the global leaderboard, marking its maiden entry into the world's top 10 skill nations.
