Eligibility

  • Nationality: Citizen of India, subject of Nepal, subject of Bhutan, Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962 to settle permanently, or a Person of Indian Origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India (non-citizens require an eligibility certificate from the Government of India) (2026 notifi
  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent recognized by the Central Government; candidates must possess valid mark sheets/degrees by the registration closing date (2026 notification).

Age limit

  • Minimum 20 years and maximum 30 years as of 01.07.2026; candidates must have been born between 02.07.1996 and 01.07.2006 (inclusive) (2026 notification).
  • SC / ST candidates: Upper-age relaxation of 5 years (up to 35 years) (2026 notification).
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: Upper-age relaxation of 3 years (up to 33 years) (2026 notification).
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD under RPwD Act 2016): Upper-age relaxation of 10 years (2026 notification).
  • Ex-Servicemen / ECOs / SSCOs: Upper-age relaxation of 5 years as per central government norms (2026 notification).
  • Persons affected by 1984 riots: Upper-age relaxation of 5 years (2026 notification).

Selection process

  1. Stage 1: Preliminary Examination — Qualifying online screening test consisting of 100 marks across three separately timed sections (2026 notification).
  2. Stage 2: Main Examination — 200-mark objective test followed by a 25-mark descriptive test; scores are scaled for the final merit list (2026 notification).
  3. Stage 3: Personality Test — Mandatory online self-report assessment taken prior to the interview stage; non-qualifying in score (2026 notification).
  4. Stage 4: Common Interview — 100-mark interview conducted by participating banks; minimum qualifying score is 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD) (2026 notification).
  5. Stage 5: Provisional Allotment — Final merit computation based on Main Examination (80%) and Common Interview (20%) out of 100 marks (2026 notification).
