The announcement was made during the first-ever National Conference on Cold Water Fisheries (NCCWF) held at the SKICC in Srinagar.
The Department of Fisheries released 'Model Guidelines for Cold-Water Fisheries' (MG-CWF) to promote scientific and sustainable growth in the sector.
This initiative aims to transform the local economy by creating infrastructure for high-altitude aquaculture and supporting fish farmers.
